Title; The Son and The Father
Created By: Sakura Tommiko
In a dark, black void where
nothing existed, there stood two men whom I haven't seen in my entire life:
The son, who was standing
in front of me, and the father, who was standing beside me.
I was there, present in the
scene, but it seemed like my presence was unnoticeable due to the circumstances
they both endured at that time. I just stood there, unable to move, watching
the both of them kill themselves.
In front of me, was the son
who seemed like he did so much evil deeds that his entire existence couldn't
take. At his left hand, he held a knife with a very sharp edge, and
continuously sliced his right wrist. With dark blood dripping from his wrist,
his father, who was standing beside me, shouted words with an unheard voice,
and with an enraged and worried look on his face. He kept on trying to reach
for his son, but no matter how hard he tried, he just couldn't.
With his son finally pale
and out of breath, red blood surrounding its body as it laid idly on the
ground, the father whispered, "This is why I submerged myself in the
boiling lava my previous life..."
At that instant, the father
stood in front of me. His head looking down, his face gleaming with sadness,
his eyes narrowed as it gazed straight at a pit of hot lava. And from then on,
as he gripped the bag his son gave him, he slowly walked
into the pit.
Tssss...
I heard the sound of flesh
being burnt.
Tssss... tssss... tssss...
Again and again, I heard
him being burnt, as he slowly submerged himself into the lava, one step at a
time. I tried to stop him, shouting as hard as I could, but no voice came out
from my throat. I tried to reach for him, just as he did for his son, but just
like him, I couldn't.
I couldn't do anything to
save him.
I just stood there,
silently watching him as he killed himself. I saw his face, just before his
head entirely disappeared, it didn't show any signs of pain. His face remained
blank. He couldn't feel pain any further, for the pain that the death of his
son caused was even greater. Then when he finally disappeared, I thought of the
pain he must have endured when being burnt to a crisp alive.
It gave me a very chilly
shiver along my spine.
